Educational Research Development Central Unit

ABOUT THE UNIT

It is a unit that has a pioneering and distinguished role in the development of university education in all its major aspects of teaching, scientific, educational and technological research, and the related provision of scientific advice in accordance with a framework of university values and in the light of contemporary global trends.

The Education Development Research Unit, through the Education Development Department at the university, conducts exploratory studies on the reality of teaching and learning by studying the experiences of teaching and learning centers in advanced universities.


OUR VISION

The vision of the unit stems from the recognition that the development process is the basis of progress and upgrading the level of education and achieving efficiency for its outputs to keep pace with contemporary global changes, and then the unit seeks to occupy the place of distinguished scientific leadership in educational research and to become a scientific expertise house that provides the components of continuous evaluation and development of university education through Scientific research.


OUR MISSION

The unit works in cooperation with the other four units of the University Education Strategy Administration (The central unit for Curriculum and Learning Methods Development - The Central Unit for Assessment and Evaluation - The central unit for E-Learning- The central unit for Postgraduate Programs Development), and with the university colleges to develop areas of scientific and educational research to raise the level of performance in university education through the development of study programs, and the development of Human resources, holding seminars, scientific conferences and training courses that achieve development and excellence for university education and its outputs.

OUR Activities

The Educational Research Development Central Unit aims to:

1. Presenting development prospects based on research questionnaires in cooperation with the other four units of the University Education Strategy Administration (The central unit for Curriculum and Learning Methods Development - The Central Unit for Assessment and Evaluation - The central unit for E-Learning- The central unit for Postgraduate Programs Development) to develop the teaching and learning process at the university.

2. Conducting scientific research and studies that contribute to raising the level of university education.

3. Work on analyzing the most prominent local and international research in the field of teaching and learning and extracting the most important results reached and publishing them among university employees.

4. Attending various international events (conferences, workshops, training courses) in the field of teaching and learning and conveying their impact to university colleagues.

5. Cooperation and coordination with the other Four units of the University Education Strategy Administration to improve and develop the teaching and learning process by building performance standards that measure performance and work to improve it.

6. Developing the scientific journals affiliated with the University Education Strategy Administration with its various units (The central unit for Curriculum and Learning Methods Development - The Central Unit for Assessment and Evaluation - The central unit for E-Learning- The central unit for Postgraduate Programs Development), leading to globalization, so that this contributes to raising the university’s ranking in international classifications, as the journal is interested in publishing original scientific research and studies that Relate to areas of educational development in general and university education in particular, which adhere to scientific research methodology.

7. Cooperation and coordination to follow up on what has been accomplished by the three units of the University Development Administration (The central unit for Curriculum and Learning Methods Development - The Central Unit for Assessment and Evaluation - The central unit for E-Learning- The central unit for Postgraduate Programs Development) and to provide the necessary feedback in light of the results reached.

8. Study the reality in the various faculties of the university to determine (opportunities and challenges) for each college according to its type (theory - process) so that the results of this evaluation help the other four units of the University Education Strategy Administration to develop implementation plans for the development Education in these colleges in light of the results of the reality study.

9. Holding conferences, seminars, and discussions in the field of university education and its development.

10. Providing specialized theoretical and practical scientific advice in the fields of educational development.


Unit activities

1. Creating a magazine called "Journal of Educational Research & Innovation”

2. An evaluation study of what has been accomplished in the units of measurement and evaluation, and e-learning since the beginning of their work until October 2020

3. A study to determine the training needs of faculty staff members and teaching assistants in the field of e-learning

4. A study to determine the training needs of faculty staff members and teaching assistants in the field of measurement and evaluation

5. A study to determine the training needs of faculty staff members and teaching assistants at the Faculty of Archeology in three areas (curriculum development - e-learning - measurement and evaluation)

6. Holding two workshops for faculty staff members and teaching assistants, in cooperation with the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, entitled (Education Research Quality - Research Funding).
