Egypt National Center for the International Institute of Online Education (IIOE) of UNESCO

About us

In line with the Egyptian national strategy to promote digital education, the International Center for Higher Education Innovation under auspices of UNESCO (UNESCO-ICHEI) and Ain Shams University (ASU) jointly established the International Institute of Online Education, Egypt National Center (IIOE Egypt) in May 2022 to construct a national hub supporting the digital transformation of higher education teaching and learning in Egypt. The IIOE Egypt is hosted by ASU and endorsed by the Egyptian Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Egyptian Supreme Council of Universities and has developed a national network of over 20 Egyptian HEIs.

Mission

IIOE – Egypt is committed to providing transformative and innovative teaching, learning, research and services responsive to dynamic national and global development needs and actively lead the development of higher education in Egypt.

Training programs: Digital Teaching Training Series

IIOE Egypt National Center Objectives:

1. Establish an IIOE national hub for quality OBTL to serve and support national higher education digital transformation in Egypt.

2. Build a national network of HEIs to support implementation of OBTL in Egypt.

3. Construct a national platform of dialogue and mutual exchanges for professional development of higher education workforce.

4. Coordinate the development and sharing of online courses and programs nationally and internationally.

5. Build local education-industry partnerships and facilitate talent training for key local industries.
