The Measurement and Evaluation Scientific Association is one of the qualitative associations of the Association of Arab Universities, and the Education Strategy Administration at Ain Shams University has been chosen to be its headquarters.
The Measurement and Evaluation Scientific Association offers a group of specialized services in the field of assessment and evaluation such as the preparation of a specialized manual that includes the latest standards in the field of assessment and evaluation, a set of workshops and specialized courses in the field in addition to free webinars as well as contributing to the encouragement of specialized entities in the field.
The Measurement and Evaluation Scientific Association aims to become a leading and internationally accredited association in exams, assessment standards and consultancy, along with upgrading the assessment and evaluation system in Arab universities coping the latest technological advances.
Spreading the culture of measurement and evaluation and providing integrated solutions for the development of the system in Arab universities to contribute to achieving justice, transparency, and quality in addition to raising the efficiency of faculty members and preparing scientific and executive cadres to develop the evaluation process.
1. Spreading awareness of the culture of measurement, assessment, and evaluation in Arab universities by establishing training programs and workshops for faculty in the field of measurement, assessment and evaluation.
2. Conducting analytical studies for evaluating exams according to specific standards to diagnose the reality of the evaluation process, detect problems and aspects of deficiencies and the effectiveness of the application of modern assessment systems.
3. Building and accrediting the standards of measurement, assessment and evaluation for the Arab Universities Association.
4. Develop the measurement and evaluation system and use the latest technological methods in building item banks and electronic tests in line with the capabilities of students with the development of a mechanism for the management and mechanization of exam papers.
5. Adopting competency-based evaluation strategy and linking evaluation methods to learning strategies.
6. Raising the competency of faculty in Arab universities in building exams, preparing the exam paper and item banks, besides using them, in addition to all innovative modern assessment systems.
7. Providing services and assistance in the field of evaluation to the member universities of the Measurement and Evaluation Scientific Association.
8. Encouraging scientific joint research, sharing their results and linking the topics of applied research in the field of measurement, assessment and evaluation.
9. Encouraging the establishment of entities (departments/units/research centers) specialized in measurement, assessment and evaluation in Arab universities.
10. Closer cooperation and exchange of experiences between member faculties and institutes through holding of scientific seminars and conferences specialized in the field of measurement, assessment and evaluation, joint supervision of scientific dissertations and exchange of scientific visits and research publications in the field of measurement, assessment and evaluation.
11. Representing the Measurement and Evaluation Scientific Association and its member universities in international conferences and forums.

The unit’s strategic plan was developed in January 2020 in accordance with the strategic plan of the Education Strategy Administration at Ain Shams University, to achieve the planning, development and evaluation of the Measurement and Evaluation system in accordance with national and international standards.
In pursuing these responsibilities, The Central Measurement and Evaluation Unit is mainly responsible for a range of activities including:
1. Preparing and following up plans for managing emergency situations regarding measurement and evaluation such as assessment processes during the Corona-Virus crisis
2. Training of faculty members and teaching assistants on different assessment and evaluation aspects
3. Providing technical support to the sub-units of Measurement and Evaluation in all faculties
4. Issuance of the ethical charter for measurement and evaluation at Ain Shams University
5. Establishment of 21 sub-units for Measurement and Evaluation in faculties
6. Strategic planning for the measurement and evaluation system at Ain Shams University
7. Cooperation with the Ministry of Higher Education on all that is related to the process of measurement and evaluation
8. Providing necessary support and follow up on the conduction of Electronic Exams in faculties
9. Issuance of the Measurement and Evaluation Guide and its dissemination to all university faculties
10. Incorporating artificial intelligence into the measurement and evaluation system
