Under the auspices of Professor Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities, and Professor Mohamed Diaa Zein El-Abedeen, President of Ain Shams University, and within the framework of the Center of Developing the Educational Strategies and Research at Ain Shams University, a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Scientific Association for Measurement and Evaluation, affiliated with the Association of Arab Universities, was held on Sunday, March 3, 2024.
The meeting was chaired by Professor Dr. Mona Abdelaal Elzahry, Secretary General of the Scientific Society for Measurement and Evaluation and Executive Director of the Center of Developing the Educational Strategies and Research at Ain Shams University and attended by the members of the Executive Committee, which are professors and specialists in the field of measurement and evaluation from the universities of Ain Shams, Helwan, Zagazig, King Salman Private University, Zarqa University of Jordan, King Abdulaziz University in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Arabian Gulf University in Bahrain, the University of Baghdad in Iraq, the Arab Council for Health Specialties, and members of the Central Measurement and Evaluation Unit at Ain Shams University.
The meeting discussed the preparations of the association’s annual conference, in addition to a group of proposed training courses and workshops. The committee also discussed strategic ways of cooperation with local and international partners in the field of measurement and evaluation in the medical sciences, arts, humanities, and engineering and technology sectors.
It should be noted that the Scientific Society for Measurement and Evaluation, which is based in Ain Shams University, was established in 2022 through a decision by the General Conference of the Association of Arab Universities. The association aims to spread the culture of measurement and evaluation and provide integrated solutions to develop the educational system in Arab universities and contribute to achieving justice, transparency, and quality. Another main objective is raising the efficiency of faculty staff members and preparing scientific and executive experienced personnel to develop the evaluation process.
